The ATAK team got an award for its work in commercializing the ATAK program as required by law. From the Rome Sentinel:
The Rome Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate and the Griffiss Institute received awards during the Federal Laboratory Consortium (FLC) for Technology Transfer’s Northeast Regional Meeting at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.
For the Rome lab/Information Directorate, the FLC Regional Coordinator’s Excellence Award went to Franklin E. Hoke, Chief of the Office of Research and Technology Applications.
This recognized his contribution to the FLC program during the past year, and his effective technology transfer program at the Information Directorate.
