PAR Technology’s wholly-owned subsidiary has been awarded a research and development contract with the US Air Force (USAF) Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate for the special tactics tactical assault kit (ST-TAK) programme.
AFRL is developing a ST specific software configuration, ST-TAK, for use by Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) ST operators and other customers.
Under the $5m contract, PAR Government Systems will develop and deploy innovative geospatial situational awareness solutions on mobile devices for the next three years.
“PAR Government will leverage our extensive experience in mobile device computing along with geospatial expertise to provide the Air Force with a world class innovative solution.”This will enable AFSOC users and specifically those who are in the ST community, to effectively manage information used for military operations to include secure connectivity for data dissemination.
PAR Government president Matt Cicchinelli said: “We are pleased that AFRL has selected PAR Government to support the ST-TAK programme.
“PAR Government will leverage our extensive experience in mobile device computing along with geospatial expertise to provide the Air Force with a world class innovative solution.”
Work under the contract will be carried out by PAR Government’s intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sector.
As part of the programme, AFRL has developed the android tactical assault kit (ATAK) and the tactical assault kit (TAK) server to provide information management (IM) services to facilitate the exchange of information between a tactical end user device and an operations centre.
PAR Government provides ISR solutions to the US Department of Defense, US Government agencies, and private industry.
