Michigan Tech, Indiana University, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, sponsored by NIST presented a paper on networking with ATAK for forest firefighting using a mix of LTE and WiFi, and leveraging a Raspberry Pi for data ferrying with a drone.  The presentation is here.
